Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston was in trouble after scoring a touchdown on “Thursday Night Football” against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns went for a two-point conversion, but Winston had something hanging off the top of his helmet.
First up is Winston’s highlight play. He ran for it on fourth and goal, went up in the air and reached the end zone to score a big touchdown and give the Browns a 16-6 lead.
The Browns were going for two points to take a 12-point lead. However, Winston was pointing at something hanging from the top of his helmet, apparently alerting the sidelines that the communications system was malfunctioning.
Kaylee Hartung, a sideline reporter for Amazon Prime Video, explained that when Winston hit the ground, it was the communication device battery inside his helmet that flew out. She said Winston could hear the call of the two-point play, but certainly looked like he was in trouble.
Either way, Winston found a way to get the job done. He hit David Njoku in the end zone for a two-point try, giving the Browns an 18-6 lead. In the end, Cleveland won 24-19.
Thursday night’s game took a strange turn as heavy snow fell in the second half. Things get even weirder when Winston lets some of his communications equipment pop out of his helmet.
