Bangalore Police has confirmed that a bomb threat sent to the Taj West End Hotel was a false alarm.
Bengaluru police confirmed on Saturday that an email warning that an explosive device was being planted at the luxury Taj West End hotel in central Bangalore was a false alarm.
The hotel received the email early Saturday morning, prompting immediate action by law enforcement. “This morning we received a bomb threat email to the Taj West End Hotel at PS Highground. Our BDDS and ASC teams checked the premises and discovered it was a hoax threat email. We have received the complaint and will investigate it,” said Shekhar H. Tekannavar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Bengaluru, Deccan Herald reported.

Authorities have filed formal charges and are launching an investigation to track down the culprit behind the threatening email hoax. The bomb threat prompted a quick response from police and the local bomb squad, who arrived at the hotel and conducted a thorough search of the area.

The incident follows recent horror incidents involving a bomb threat at Army Public School in Ashok Nagar about 10 days ago. The school received an email stating that an explosive device would be placed on the premises. Management immediately alerted the Ashok Nagar police, who conducted a comprehensive investigation and ultimately determined that the threat was not credible.

Bangalore has recently seen an alarming increase in the threat of hoax bombings, affecting public places including schools and the Kempegowda International Airport. Authorities have reported numerous threatening emails and phone calls, causing serious concern for both residents and authorities.
