(WSVN) – The famous South Florida health food store has purchased many of its gluten-free bakeries from a small, unique bakery. They then refused to pay for small businesses. Can a large corporation get away with that? Tonight we’ll help Patrick Fraser and Howard.
Some people are allergic to wheat, barley, and other grains that have gluten.
Anna Chlora: “They can’t eat bread, they can’t eat pizza or anything with gluten.”
Imagine it! You won’t taste anything with flour. There are no cookies, croquets, or pasta. Unless you come to Dora’s bakery at Coral Gables.
Anachrola: “We bake without gluten. We make pizza, sandwiches, and even croquet. Everything people want to eat.”
Anna is named Dora after her family and she says it is the only place in South Florida where everything in the store is 100% gluten-free.
Ana Chlora: “It’s all great. You’re not going to realize it’s gluten-free.”
I bought a burger with freshly baked gluten-free bread. can’t believe it!
But we weren’t there to water our mouths. That’s because a company called Dr. Smood does for Dora.
Ana Crolla: “So we started supplying them to five or six stores where they had some products at that time, and we supply them twice a week. It was there.”
Dr. Smood, also known as Cafe Smood, is a health food chain that has purchased Dora baked goods for two years.
Ana Chlora: “They were always a little late, but we call them and they’ll pay. But the last time they didn’t pay anymore. They owe USD 4,500. ”
$45 is a huge amount of money for small businesses. Dr. Smood told Anna that they were closing. Her reply?
Ana Chlora: “If we can’t pay us with money, we’ll take some equipment. I’m sure they have a lot of ovens, mixers, etc. I’m doing it.”
Again, they refused.
Large businesses go down and burn small bakeries at the same time.
Ana Chlora: “It’s very hard. It was so niche, so it was very hard.”
It’s tough, but is Anna not lucky?
Howard Finkelstein: “Maybe yes, Florida law allows businesses to go out of business and stiffen their creditors or pay pennies for $1. Reality: Big businesses pay first SMEs that can’t afford to buy lawyers go behind the line. This means Dora won’t win $4,500 from Dr. Smood.”
Dr. Smood contacted Oliver Sindreff. He said he lost tens of millions before the company shut down. When he asked Dora to pay at least to pay for him, he asked him to pay some of the money they owed, he said, “No company has any money.”
When I said, “Give her equipment to help her,” he said: “We must make special arrangements with creditors and provide physical assets as payments. I can’t do that.”
He added that when they sold out their assets, they might be able to pay her some money, but they wanted other creditors to get paid as well. .
Ana Chlora: “I’m sorry it happened to them, but here we are all on the same boat.”
As Anna said, you can smell the fresh bread coming out of the oven. It’s tasty for everyone.
Ana Chlora: “We happen to be a great food that is gluten-free. If you’re gluten-free, you can’t tell the difference that the food is gluten-free, so everyone can come and eat. can.”
I hate seeing small businesses robbed. Dora’s bakery is off the 8th Avenue in Coral Gables. They ship and most importantly, the food delivers a great taste. Try to help them. And if you’re a small business, when someone first delays payment, it’s a red flag. Cut them out.
