U.S. News & World Report released its 2025 rankings for elementary and middle schools in each state, and in Vermont, the Champlain Valley School District topped four rankings.
Two local junior high schools were named to the list.
The digital media company used data from the U.S. Department of Education to create rankings of more than 70,000 public schools based on four metrics: math proficiency, reading comprehension, math achievement, and reading comprehension. The schools analyzed were then given a score based on a formula that took into account four criteria and socio-economic background.
