By now it’s clear that tiny homes are more than just a fad: they represent a growing movement that highlights people’s desire to move beyond consumerism and live more sustainably, freely and intentionally. Despite their small size, these alternative housing solutions offer incredible benefits that traditional homes don’t offer, including increased mobility, energy efficiency, affordability and flexibility to adapt to different lifestyles.
For people who want to embrace tiny home living but want more space and increased mobility, a gooseneck tiny home may be the perfect solution. Because part of the home sits on top of the bed of a truck, gooseneck tiny homes can be built larger than homes that fit on bumper pull trailers, meaning residents have to make fewer compromises when downsizing.
The newest Gooseneck model we saw is the Alameda, a well-designed tiny home that packs a lot of living space into a portable package while still providing plenty of comfort and functionality. It’s a custom-built unit, manufactured by the expert team at Movable Roots, a Melbourne, Florida-based company with over 20 years of experience in home construction.
Built on a gooseneck trailer, the Alameda is 38 feet long and 8.5 feet wide, with just under 390 square feet of living space including the loft — plenty of space for a tiny home. An efficient, well-thought-out floor plan makes this home open and functional, and the ultra-modern interior features all the conveniences you’d expect in a custom-built home.

The home was designed for a young couple and their pets and features a spacious living room, a full galley-style kitchen, a modern bathroom and two bedrooms. Additionally, the home is packed with unique features to make small living with pets comfortable, such as a catwalk connecting the master bedroom over a gooseneck to the loft bedroom, as well as thoughtful storage solutions.
In terms of styling, the black and white color scheme gives the interiors a timeless elegance. The right balance of these two high-contrast colors gives this home a luxurious feel, and gold accents in the fixtures and hardware add to the luxurious feel.
Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by an enormous kitchen with custom cabinetry on both sides, white countertops, and state-of-the-art appliances. Designed with practicality in mind, you’ll have plenty of space to cook and prepare meals with ample cupboards and drawers to store cookware, utensils, tools, and supplies. In terms of amenities, the cooking space features a deep apron sink, full range, microwave, pull-out dishwasher, and a large home refrigerator.

Next to the kitchen is the spacious living room, complete with a custom entertainment center with storage cabinets and an integrated electric fireplace. Opposite it is a spacious living room with enough space for a large sofa, a center table and other seating. The only drawback of this area is that there are apparently no windows, which makes the space seem a bit dark and closed in, but this is likely by the owner’s choice.
The Alameda has two bedrooms, both with double beds, meaning the home can sleep four people, and even more can be accommodated with a sofa bed in the lounge area.
Like most gooseneck tiny homes, the master bedroom is located in the gooseneck section, which means it has more headroom and privacy than a traditional loft. Plus, there’s no cumbersome ladder or staircase to climb to get there; you reach this section via just five flights of stairs with integrated storage.

The bedroom has a bed frame with storage designed to fit a standard king size mattress, built-in nightstands with storage, a built-in bookcase and a spacious closet space that is also accessible from the hallway. The closet also has an interior cat door that leads to a catwalk that leads through the kitchen and out to the loft on the other side of the home.
A removable ladder provides access to the loft, which is large enough for a queen-size mattress and can be used as a home office, reading nook, storage space or whatever the owner needs.
The bathroom is the only space in this tiny home that strays from the black-and-white color scheme, boasting a large bathtub surrounded by blue tile walls, a custom sink, a standard flush toilet, and an integrated washer/dryer that doubles as the laundry area.
The Alameda’s exterior is clad in a combination of LP Smart Siding and board-and-batten siding, designed to stand out in a crowd, and the rear of the home features various storage compartments and gas bottle holders, signaling its intended use as a permanent residence.
All things considered, the Alameda is a beautiful gooseneck model that offers a spacious layout, luxurious kitchen, comfortable sleeping quarters, and ample storage solutions. Plus, it blends functionality with luxury, a highly sought-after combination in the world of small living.
