DALLAS — Jayden Nunn had 16 points, Nauchad Omie had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and No. 8 Baylor bounced back from an opening-round loss to beat No. 16 Arkansas 72-67 on Saturday night. . .
The Bears (1-1) haven’t lost in five straight nights since a 101-63 loss to No. 6 Gonzaga. There were three ties in the second game, and Nunn scored the winning goal each time. His 3-point shot with 15 minutes and 46 seconds remaining put the team on track to remain in the game.
Arkansas (1-1) pulled within 70-67 after freshman Boogie Frando, who had 17 points and seven assists, made a long 3-pointer with 24 seconds left. Baylor then broke the press and freshman VJ Edgecomb made two free throws.
Adu Tiello, one of the four players transferred from Kentucky along with new Razorbacks coach John Calipari, took a shot during a game between former Southwest Conference rivals at the home of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. He scored 24 points on 10 out of 15 shots.
For Baylor, Jeremy Roach had 13 points, Edgecombe had 11 points and Robert Wright had 10 points.

After Tierro scored his first six points after halftime, starting an 11-2 Razorbacks run that tied the score at 44, Nunn hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key off an assist from Edgecombe. Ta. Arkansas then missed a shot rebounded by Edgecombe, followed by a three of its own.
