Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, was spotted arriving at New York University on Wednesday for his first day of college life.
The tall 18-year-old, a black SwissGear backpack slung casually over his shoulder, was flanked by Secret Service agents as he stepped onto the campus in downtown Manhattan.
Barron, wearing a white polo shirt, black pants and Adidas Gazelle sneakers, stopped by the dean’s office first before rushing off to class, sources told The Washington Post.
It was not immediately clear whether New York University, where tuition starts at about $62,700 a year, would implement enhanced security measures for students this academic year, given the presence of Inspector Barron’s Secret Service unit.
The former eldest son will live off-campus and commute to school each day from his father’s Trump Tower building on Fifth Avenue in Midtown, according to sources.
According to the Daily Mail, the boy plans to study at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
“It’s a very high-quality place. He liked it here. He liked the school,” Trump told the outlet. “I went to Wharton, and that was a consideration. But we didn’t choose Wharton. We chose Stern.”
Barron’s arrival on his first day of classes comes after his school choice had been shrouded in secrecy until now.
His father exclusively revealed to The Washington Post last month that his 6-foot-7-inch son will be attending college in New York this fall, but did not reveal the name of the school.
The 45th president added that the boy, his only child with wife Melania, has been accepted into multiple schools.
“He’s always been a very good student and very smart,” Trump said at the time.
The former commander in chief previously said his son was already interested in politics and would sometimes advise him on what to do.
Barron graduated from Oxford University Press, a prestigious school in West Palm Beach, Florida, in May.
The Post reached out to NYU but did not immediately receive a response.
