Audi’s flexible, app-based car rental service, known as Audi On Demand, is coming to an end.
The automaker said on the service’s website that the last day to reserve a car is September 30, 2024.
The service launched in the US in 2015 and later merged with Silvercar, an independent car rental service that Audi acquired in 2017.
Customers can choose from a range of Audi models available at participating dealerships and reservations can be made from 1 day up to 28 days in advance.

When searching for the service, you’ll see that only the Q5, Q7 and A5 Sportback models are currently available: As a pricing example, quotes for the A5 Sportback include a daily rate of $95 and a weekly rate of $665, excluding taxes and fees.
There are certain restrictions, such as location and mileage allowed, but Audi also offers a premium option that includes unlimited mileage, plus perks such as a concierge service to help with car delivery and collection.
Audi also ran a subscription program called “Audi Select” that gave customers access to a range of Audi models for a flat monthly fee. However, Audi Select was only a trial run, and the program ended in 2021.
Audi isn’t the only automaker currently ditching rental or subscription programs: Volvo in August ended its Care by Volvo subscription program, which had been in place in the US since 2017.
