PepsiCo and the Arizona Diamondbacks have partnered on the company’s Juntos Crecemos initiative, which supports local Hispanic businesses. The team and PepsiCo recently made a donation to Mariscos Playa Hermosa, covering the restaurant’s bill during the afternoon lunch rush.
PepsiCo’s Juntos Crecemos was launched in October 2020 with the aim of supporting small businesses and has helped restaurants, butchers and bodegas as part of a $50 million commitment made by PepsiCo.
In addition to making direct donations, PepsiCo’s Juntos Crecemos also provides corporate services such as marketing support, operational assistance and mentoring.
Mariscos Playa Hermosa is a Phoenix-based Mexican seafood restaurant founded in 2002 by Jose and Maria Maldonado and has been a local favorite ever since.
Diamondbacks legend Luis Gonzalez presented the Mariscos with a check for $10,000 on behalf of PepsiCo’s Juntos Cresemos. Josh Crossman, vice president of GTM, strategy and transformation for PepsiCo Beverages North America, was in attendance to represent Cresemos.
