When thieves flee in Darcey Bell’s rented U-Haul truck, a San Francisco woman calls on X for help. “If you see a 26-foot U-Haul truck with Arizona plates AL50003, could you please let me know? All my belongings are in there.”
The post went viral, but not for the reasons she expected. Bell spent years posting left-wing “defund the police” opinions, and users across the site criticized and ridiculed him.
“Bay State of Mind,” an X account that comments on politics in the San Francisco Bay Area, jeered, “Anti-police activists are asking the police for help.”
Tom Wolfe, an addiction recovery activist with about 30,000 followers, posted a screenshot of Bell’s previous post about firing at San Francisco police, as well as a screenshot of his latest complaint.
“Shot. Chaser,” the caption reads.
In X, Bell, who is known as Jerk Cousteau and has a history of “responding to every malicious argument with a humane attack,” fights back.
Just hours after filing a police report, she accused police of not finding her stolen belongings sooner.
“I can’t find my stuff!” The police didn’t do that! I had to file a police report because of U-Haul! ” she told the Post.
“There are cameras everywhere in this city. They’re not doing anything! …I just want my stuff back!”
To those who accuse her of hypocrisy, she insists she “literally never called the police” and reposts more calls to take appropriate action against law enforcement. There is.
Uhaul urged her to report the truck theft to authorities.
“Please be sure to call us back so we can file a police report with our Equipment Recovery Department,” the company’s customer support account says.
As for her critics, she sneered.
“Look at all the good Christian ‘victim advocates’ who celebrate the loss of my children’s possessions on Christmas,” she fired at haters in general.
