PADUKAH, Ky. — Amazon.com Services LLC will open a last-mile delivery facility in Paducah, expanding Amazon’s ability to serve the western Kentucky region. The new facility is 72,500 square feet and located at 5501 Commerce Drive in Industrial Park West.
Greater Paducah Economic Development (GPED), along with other community partners, worked closely with the Amazon team over the past 18 months to bring this project to Paducah.
“Paducah, McCracken County, is the center of a surrounding four-state region with a population of more than 500,000 people. Amazon’s location of a distribution facility in our area is a sign of Paducah’s strong workforce and commuter population. This proves the inflow pattern,” said GPED President and CEO Bruce Wilcox.
“Amazon is committed to delivering packages to residents who proudly call these four states home. The Amazon team has been a great partner throughout the process, and we are proud of the new facilities Amazon and its partners are bringing to our communities. We’re excited about the jobs, the capital investment.
Local authorities have widely supported the project.
“We often talk about centralizing logistics in Paducah-McCracken County, and we are honored that Amazon has decided to build a last-mile logistics facility in Industrial Park West,” said Paducah-McCracken County Mayor George Bray. I think so,” he said. “GPED staff and the Board of Directors have worked tirelessly to attract companies considering locating to Paducah, thanks to great partnerships with our community and a significant investment by Amazon. It’s a proven big win.”
McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer added, “Amazon’s last-mile distribution center is another piece of the puzzle in strengthening our community as a hub for growth for ourselves and the surrounding region. ” Amazon will be a great partner for us. ”
The new facility is expected to create significant employment opportunities and further position Paducah as a growing logistics and distribution center in the region.
