Jared Cannonier knows one or two things about the five-round main event.
On his seventh UFC headline opportunity, Canonier defeated the odds by surgeting intermediate candidate Gregory Rodriguez and finishing him out in the fourth round with knockout fullley. Canonier cut two fights off and avoided losing three consecutive fights for the first time in his career.
He’s a month away from his 41st birthday. There was a moment when Canonier was definitely nervous, especially in the first round when the offensive Rodriguez found his chin and placed it on the mat. Cannonier relied on his toughness and experience to make the five-minute opening before turning the action around. After nearly finishing Rodriguez at the end of round three, he needed just 21 seconds to seal the deal in round four.
Canonier’s companions were adored by UFC welterweight champion Beral Muhammad, who said “he still got it” with analyst Alan Juvan Wrighting, who was adamant about his comeback performance. . Something super impressive.
“It’s not slowing down.”

Wow, Canonier steals round three with that short elbow and GNP, sealing off round four deals with a TKO stop. Robocop is fighting again at efficiency/pace.

These are usually battles where RoboCop returns and wins.
It’s really cool to see Jared Cannonier bounce like this!
