It is not unreasonable to imagine that proud parents see a newborn and think that one day he or she will become the president or governor. The perception, strength and expectations that they are trying to develop leaders come as hope.
Our hopes for No. 2, Lieutenant Governor No. 2, is to wait.
Hawaii’s Governor Sylvia Luke said on her web page that it is for “someone who acts as governor when he is absent from the state or when he cannot exercise his duties and duties and be discharged from the hospital.”
While we need to work to ensure ongoing government leadership, it is rare that parents dream of their children growing up second.
Only four of Hawaii’s lieutenant governors have become one of the state’s nine governors: George Aliyoshi, John Wyhee, Ben Kaetano and Josh Green.
Former Governor Ariyoshi was the only person called to activate the inheritance option.

Since the state in 1959, Hawaii has had 16 lieutenant governors.
Luke served as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives for 24 years from 1998 until 2022 as lieutenant governor. She is the first Korean-American politician to be elected to the US statewide office.
Luke is trained as a proxy governor as he has repeatedly stepped in as Governor Green’s acting governor when he left the state.
Still, Luke is a modest lieutenant governor and she is also a successful politician, but she is not trying to draw much attention to her work. Part of her time at the Capitol was chairing a powerful House Finance Committee.
During the federal political action committee, the Naka Li, the competition, it has now changed, spending $1.2 million against Luke and $2.9 million to support his enemy, former city councillor Ikaika Anderson. This set the state record for the most money PAC spent on a single race in Hawaii. Luke still won.
Luke’s question now is how far back to the shadows she wants to retain her political career.
Hawaii cannot specifically denounce the incumbent governor, but there are many political issues that have happened between his watches. The issues include the newly opened Kaneohe State Hospital, which has been described by workers as “terribly shortage and dangerous.”
Although not so dangerous, it still shows a lack of government capacity, it’s a highway jam on Saturday afternoon as the state’s transportation department scheduled several H-1 freeway lanes simultaneously for rehabilitation and guardrail maintenance.
“We apologize for the mistaken setting up the closure. Transportation Director Ed Sniffen said:
For Luke, the challenge is not just being an observer, but deciding how much she wants to jump, get her hands dirty and push the state government’s gear and lever to get it.
