Minot High School was able to win all Western Dakota Association (WDA) games during the season, losing only to two teams from the East, which they faced in the 32nd Dakota Bowl for the Class AAA state championship.
The Magicians also ranked first in the state twice during the regular season. Recognition of the team’s talent and skill continued with coaches voting on the AAA All-State roster.
The first-team offensive line consisted of senior running back Griffin Broderick and senior offensive lineman Dylan Hoover.
In 10 games this season, Minot High School averaged 224 yards rushing and just over 112 yards passing per game. The majority of those rushing yards are based on Hoover’s blocking and Broderick’s power running.
Griffin Broderick rushed for 1,126 total yards and 12 touchdowns on 198 attempts this season. Broderick had nine receptions and 60 receiving yards.
The first-team defense consisted of senior defensive lineman Landon Bedell, senior defensive back Kellan Burke and senior defensive back Kayden Craft.
The Magicians recorded one shutout on the season, holding four teams to just one point per game. Minot High School’s season saw only two teams win against the Magi, and those two teams scored 24 and 17 points, respectively.
Landon Bedell had five sacks, one interception, 11 tackles and 132 defensive points. Kaden Craft had four interceptions, 10 tackles and 123 points defensed.
The roster included first team offense and defense, as well as two-way players throughout Minot High School’s roster.
