Fowler Plaza South, a shopping center in Tampa’s Uptown neighborhood, recently sold for $12.6 million. The buyer, a local investor whose name has not been released, has not been updated in Hillsborough County records to reflect the sale.
Plaza Advisors represented the seller, SJS Realty Management, a Cherry Hill, New Jersey-based company that purchased the property in 2000.
Fowler Plaza South has 57,093 square feet of retail space and was 97% occupied at the time of sale, with notable tenants including Dollar General, Champs, AT&T, Jimmy John’s, Foot Locker and Amscot .
The property is located less than a half-mile west of the University of South Florida and across from Squirrel, an ongoing mixed-use redevelopment project at University Mall.
“This asset has attracted significant investor interest, particularly from local groups who recognize the positive long-term outlook for the Fowler Avenue corridor and the Tampa Bay market as a whole,” said Jeff, vice president and senior partner at Plaza Advisors. Berkeschuk said in a statement. “Fowler Plaza South is attractive for a number of reasons, including its prime location near the University of South Florida, strong local cash flow and upside potential.”
