The One & Only is a world-famous resort scheduled to open in 2025. The One & Only was ranked #2 on Travel & Leisure’s Top 25 Best Hotel Brands list.
Lone Mountain Land Company Managing Director Matt Kidd told MTN News in 2022 that the project will include approximately 94 hotel rooms and 62 residential units. . He added that this will be the brand’s first location in the United States.
This resort has only 12 locations worldwide. Kidd said Big Sky’s development will include many unique features that will be available to the public.
Kidd said more than 40 contractors are working on the project across Montana, from Billings to Bozeman and Helena to Great Falls.
Lone Mountain Land Company says all 62 homes on the site will be built sustainably and will be LEAD certified.
According to the One&Only Moonlight Basin website, the resort features designer spaces by architect Olson Kundig, featuring local art and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Kidd said the resort will be approximately 240 acres, but more than 60 percent will be open space and will be adjacent to approximately 17,000 acres of land that is subject to conservation easements.
Correction: An earlier version of this story said the fire was contained to the third floor, but the fire chief said the fire was on that floor.
