According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the Florida teenager was lured and possibly torn apart after meeting a man he met through a social media application last month.
Miranda Corsett, 16, was reported missing to Gulfport police on February 24th. On Thursday, St. Petersburg police received a call from a witness who said they had information about “an acquittal and possible murder,” including a corset.
“Through their investigation, detectives learned that 16-year-old Miranda Corsett was seduced by a social media app and met 35-year-old Steve Gress on February 14th,” police said in a news release. “After seeing him for the first time, she returned home and the next day she returned to his house. 270827thAve. N.
Corsett stayed with Gres and his partner, 37-year-old Michelle Brandes, police said.
Investigators believe that Corsett was killed between February 20th and February 24th, and that Gres drove her body to Largo’s house.
“Evidence at Largo’s home shows the bodies were torn apart and driven into Hillsboro County and placed in a trash can at 2893 14th Ave. SE in Ruskin,” police said. “Detectives are working to find the trash can and find the body.”
Gres was arrested Wednesday for possession of drugs and pointing to his partner to har, police said. He is currently facing accusations of a don in connection with the loss of a corset.
“This remains a very aggressive investigation and we expect more charges,” police said.
The St. Petersburg police are still searching for Gres’ partner Brandes and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
