JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd., India’s leading electric bus manufacturer, has entered into a strategic partnership with LeafyBus to supply 200 state-of-the-art luxury electric buses. The collaboration aims to promote green public transport and contribute to decarbonisation efforts in line with the ESG and SDG goals of both companies. As part of the agreement, JBM Electric Vehicles will provide 200 electric intercity buses equipped with cutting-edge technology that ensures environmentally friendly, safe and comfortable intercity journeys. The partnership represents a major breakthrough in transforming intercity travel by combining technology, luxury, safety and convenience.
The project involves the delivery of 200 electric buses: 150 luxury electric intercity buses and 50 specially designed electric buses for staff and tourists. These buses feature zero emissions and offer exceptional luxury, safety and comfort to passengers. The interiors and amenities have been meticulously designed to provide a truly luxurious travel experience.
Aligned with JBM’s mission to promote sustainable mobility and reduce carbon emissions, the initiative is estimated to save approximately 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and 140 million liters of diesel fuel over the life of the buses. The buses will be equipped with the latest battery technology to extend their range, fast charging capabilities and an intelligent fleet management system to optimize routes and energy consumption. Delivery of the buses is expected to be completed within the next 24 months.
