WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A group of Williamsport police officers helped several Williamsport elementary school students get ready for next week of school on Saturday by taking them on a back-to-school shopping spree at a local Target.
Officers and students were given gift cards and then had the chance to wander the aisles and pick out all the items they needed to make their first day back in the classroom amazing.
The Williamsport Police Department would like to extend a special thank you to the YWCA of North Central Pennsylvania for their assistance in planning and obtaining grant funding for this event, as well as Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Williamsport Area School District, and Target of Lycoming Crossings for their help in making this event possible.
