CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow just finished his first full NFL training camp, and he spoke in the Amazon Prime broadcast booth Thursday about how he’s feeling right now, plus some exciting signs about the Bengals’ new offensive ideas.
Cincinnati will have their quarterback ready for the regular season in just over two weeks.
“Yeah, I feel great,” Burrow told Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit. “I’m the biggest, fastest and strongest I’ve been in the league, so it’s been nice to not have any setbacks and just maintain the strength I’ve built up in the offseason with training camp and a week of conditioning. I’m always a little sore after training camp, so I’ll take a week to get fit and then hit the road.”
Whether it was injuries or COVID-19, Burrow never had a chance to fine-tune his offensive line for an entire NFL training camp, and he’s been navigating that situation for the past month with a new staff.
“Yeah, it’s great. (Offensive coordinator Dan) Pitcher brings great energy to the team and is doing a great job in his role,” Burrow said. “We’ve had some new hires, so whenever something like that happens it’s nice to bring new perspectives and ideas to the team. Justin Rascati, who came in from Minnesota, has been great, so we’re all meshing well together.”
That versatility could lead to a Super Bowl title for Cincinnati.
