The vehicle’s “Opulent” mode is claimed to enable a world where Level 4 autonomous driving allows passengers to enjoy a hands-free, truly immersive experience.
Cadillac envisioned the interior as a sanctuary for relaxation and came up with multisensory modes to encourage rest, with the full widescreen display and augmented reality head-up display (AR HUD) serving as the gateway to this experience.
The American manufacturer has also delved deep into the science of sound and light, resulting in a cabin that envelops passengers in a sophisticated and personalized environment, where carefully selected art, entertainment and ambient lighting create a wall of comfort.
The art of high performance
Meanwhile, ‘Velocity’ mode unlocks the full potential of this hypercar concept, delivering the adrenaline rush that performance enthusiasts crave.
With the touch of the Multifunction Controller, Opulent Velocity sheds its autonomous flair for a more driver-focused experience, revealing a steering wheel and pedals that put the driver in control.
Taking inspiration from Cadillac’s Blackwing engineering, the Velocity experience promises a more engaging drive, while a “ghost car” feature on the HUD screen acts as a virtual driving coach to help drivers hone their skills and push the limits on the track.
Hypercar Design
Opulent Velocity features a low silhouette, taut front fascia and dramatic draped surfaces that evoke the spirit of Cadillac’s V-Series R hybrid race car. Large butterfly doors add drama and make ingress and egress easy.
Cadillac’s signature vertical lighting elements with crystal grooved detailing adorn the taillamps, headlamps and grille, further enhancing the car’s striking presence.
Cadillac’s Future
The Opulent Velocity Concept showcases Cadillac’s vision of the future: a zero-emissions performance vehicle that seamlessly blends an authentic high-performance driving experience with the height of modern luxury.
“This shows the world that Cadillac intends to lead the way in electric luxury performance,” said Magaly DeBellis, manager of Cadillac Advanced Design.
