Borough Park, Brooklyn (PIX11) – In the mist of international travel, a group of Jewish students studying in Jerusalem were handed backpacks.
Fortunately, for a legitimate owner, these students believe in doing good deeds, or mitzvahs, as part of their daily lives.

After returning home on Jewish holidays, Brooklyn exchange students hope to remain anonymous, but did not expect the lost bag and subsequent attention to landing on their knees at Newark airport.
The taxi driver accidentally handed over the backpack while unloading the student’s luggage.
“The yellow taxi comes back, opens the window and says, ‘Someone leaves this,’ hand it over to me, and drives,” recalls Student20.
Before he told the driver it wasn’t him, the taxi was already speeding up and was surprised when he opened his bag to find a legitimate owner.
“First, I looked at my laptop,” he said. “Then I opened up other areas and started looking at the gems.”
“I was shocked,” he added. “It looked like something expensive.”
Inside his bag he spots a custom diamond-covered pendant, a Rolex watch, loose diamonds, other gems and cash.

He immediately told his mother. He advised him to call Schmira, the Brooklyn Public Safety Group. Schmira volunteers took their backpacks and began their investigation. “This is what we do,” said Levi Leifer, director of the Schmira branch. “This is our mission, open 24/7.”
The group eventually found a phone number that linked them to the bag owner. However, we will not provide additional information.
“Was he a distributor? A wholesaler? A customer? Over time, he’ll make the story itself even clearer,” Leifer said.
After confirming the ownership, Smira invited the ecstatic man to his office in the borough park. “While he speaks, we see the fear, assuming the bag is empty,” Rayfer said. “But when he opened it, he couldn’t believe it. You had to look into his eyes.”

“He was very excited. He was very happy.”
Blowing away by the integrity of the students, the owner provided a reward.
