Dublin will be home to the new senior housing project next year, and will see the official groundbreaking ceremony at Whitford in Whitford this spring, saying developers will be introducing gorgeous senior living rooms to the growing city.
The 140-unit luxury senior housing project is set to open to businesses near the intersection of Arnold Road and Horizon Parkway in fall 2026, offering unit sizes and supportive living and memory care services up to 1,499 feet on the approximately six-acre site.
This project is developed by Harbert South Bay Partners and is set up with services provided by Momentum Senior Living.
“Whitford will open when the first wave of baby boomers turns 80. This is a major era of senior living,” Patrick McGonigle, CEO of Herbert South Bay Partners, said in an announcement this month. “With best-in-class amenity packages, they are designed to attract this new generation of senior rentals. A couple who loves longtime East Bay seniors and the community and can’t imagine leaving.”
Officials from Herbert South Bay announced that they had closed the project in January, noting on a continuous basis the population growth of the Tori Valley region and Dublin, particularly as a ripe opportunity for development and occasionally overlooked markets.
Overall, Harbert Management Corp. has developed over 11,000 senior housing units nationwide over the past 8 years, highlighting “ultra-luxury facilities.” Whitford has come in recent years shortly after a series of other California projects, according to a press release from the company.
“James’ recent successes, Irvine’s 350-unit development (November 2024), Seville’s completion, San Clemente’s 87-unit development (September 2024), Barriel’s stabilization, Los Angeles’ 336-unit development (opened in July 2022) are pleased to offer another great development for McGann.
Whitford consists of 102 assist living units with a wide range of formulas, including studios to two bedroom floor plans, numerous dining options, indoor pools, wellness gym and yoga studios, hair salons, golf simulators, two courtyards, dog parks and more.
“As more seniors need daily assistance, there is a growing demand for safe and supportive housing. Many older people live alone, increasing the need for long-term care options beyond their homes.” “While senior living is occurring with advances in technology, infrastructure and design, industry leaders prioritize health, safety and innovative solutions to meet the needs of an aging population.”
“Seniors who love Dublin and want to remain connected to their community can find the perfect balance of engagement, comfort and support and embrace independence with the right level of care,” he added.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for April 8th on the currently vacant 5.74 acres of property at 5751 Arnold Road. The project’s leasing office is scheduled to open in early 2026.
