Binghamton University School of Management (SOM) has made a major leap into career achievements, ranking among the top 10 public business schools across the country for the fourth consecutive year. This shows that the emphasis on skill development and networking has become crucial in improving the student experience.
Of the 104 schools ranked as the best undergraduate business schools of 2025, management has created a top 10 listings in total public institutions for academic experience. Due to career achievements that assess the market and how top global employers respond to graduates when they leave school, SOM jumped five spots from last year’s rankings, reaching 27th overall.
“We appreciate the admiration received by the School of Business Administration and the contributions of all our faculty and staff to promote excellence, and this is truly a celebration of our incredible students,” Dean Sherry Dionne said. “We are proud to educate and inspire some of the top students in this country. They stand up to challenges every day, show great intellectual curiosity, and, importantly, build a collaborative culture based on mentoring and friendship.”
Poets & Quants, the top publication of Business Education News, has developed an annual ranking based on data that includes school admission criteria, employment outcomes and surveys of graduates from undergraduate classes in 2022.
This year’s rankings include more schools than 91 listed last year, indicating that SOM students continue to appreciate their academic experiences very much after graduation.
For years after the 2022 class graduate, SOM has evolved its curriculum to include more mentorship opportunities from day one of the program. Alumni from some of the world’s most successful companies contribute to this by increasing the level of engagement.
From regular alumni classroom visits to networking opportunities that underscore the importance of developing soft skills that open up post-graduate internships and new career paths, students are ready to meet the needs of the evolving business world.
These initiatives and others have already produced strong results for the 2024 undergraduate classes.
100% employment placement after graduation for students in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Consulting, and Management Information Systems
100% of SOM accounting students in the undergraduate class in 2024 have either won full-time jobs or pursued higher education.
Student placement in front door positions has also more than tripled over the past decade, with SOM’s 2024 undergraduates earning an average salary of $86,700. These achievements are evidence of the hard work of the school’s career services team.
Consistently ranked by the Poet & Quants as one of the national public business schools, SOM has been recognized by the Wall Street Journal by ranking among the nation’s best public schools for graduates who earn high pay in accounting, finance and marketing.
