(Printable NCAA Tournament Bracket)
The NCAA men’s tournament bracket was released on Sunday, with Auburn being announced as the number one seed to be performed from the Southern Region.
Duke is number one in the East, Houston is number one in the Midwest, and Florida is number one in the West after beating Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game. Tennessee, Michigan, Alabama and St. John’s won the second seed.
North Carolina and Texas have overcome the bubble wait. Indiana didn’t. Nor did West Virginia, where the governor threatened potential legal action against mountaineers’ omissions, call it a “justice miscarriage.”
How Auburn came here
Auburn secured the number one seed thanks to winning the SEC regular season, generating a 28-5 record and playing the second most exaggerated schedule in the country.

The Tigers lost three of their final four games, including a loss to Tennessee in the SEC Tournament semi-finals. However, the NCAA Tournament Committee overlooked Auburn’s second half of the season struggle and rewarded the overall resume featuring the best regular season in the SEC, which produced a record 14 NCAA Tournament teams.
Auburn defeated Auburn in December to lock out the 31-3 Duke team with the predicted NBA talent that was historically dominant in the 19-1 conference run to the ACC regular season title. Duke then backed up the regular season with the ACC Tournament Championship, taking part in NCAA Tournament play, playing at a nationally highest average victory margin of 20.8 points.
If Cooper Flag returns to health from an ankle sprain, Duke is popular for winning the championship in many eyes. However, it was biased by the committee due to the strength of the schedule (57th) while playing in Down ACC.
Meanwhile, Auburn produced the most quad-1 victory in the country, making it 16-5 against those opponents. Auburn’s five losses (Duke, Tennessee, Florida, Texas A&M, Alabama) each played against highly seeded teams in the NCAA Tournament. Leading by National Player of the Year nominee Johnny Bloom, Auburn will attempt to convert the number one seed into the program’s first NCAA championship.
