If you’ve been waiting for Pizza Hut to return to Riverdale, you’re in luck: The franchise is officially back in Riverdale Shopping Center, just a few doors down from its previous location on the east end of the complex where Eat My Catfish now operates.
The 1,560-square-foot store at 2516 Cantrell Road will have a more modern, compact design perfect for delivery, takeout and curbside ordering for all your on-the-go needs, according to a news release.
The restaurant’s franchisee, Flynn Group LP, owns and operates more than 975 Pizza Hut restaurants in 27 states, including neighborhood locations in Jacksonville, Maumelle, North Little Rock and Sherwood.
To celebrate Friday’s grand opening, Flynn Group is offering free pizza for a year to the first 25 customers (two free specialty pizzas or large pizzas with up to three toppings per month).
Pizza Hut is the third food business to open at the property since the 212,000-square-foot complex was purchased for redevelopment in 2022 by a group of Arkansas partners that includes TJ Leffler of Leffler Capital in Fayetteville and Eat My Catfish owner Travis Hester.
The shopping center is slated to have an Eat My Catfish opening in June 2023 and a Taco Bell opening earlier this year. According to Loeffler Capital’s website, there are several vacant parcels in the area, including a 65,000-square-foot building that formerly housed a Walmart Neighborhood Market. The building recently served as the temporary home of the Arkansas Art Center before it moved into the Arkansas Museum of Art. The space adjacent to Whole Hog Cafe is slated to house a restaurant called Wing It Forward, which was formerly home to Tuesday Morning before it went out of business and closed all eight of its Arkansas locations.
Pizza Hut’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Here’s what to know about the giveaway:
