Monmouth University will host upcoming discussions on the role of media in promoting courtesy in politics and public service, featuring Briana Vannozzi of NJ Spotlight News and David Wildstein of New Jersey Grove as panelists.
The event, which will be held at the Pollack Theatre at Monmouth University on Wednesday, March 26th from 11:40am to 1pm, will be hosted by Sen. Vingopal (D-11) and former Senator Jo Kirillos (R-13).

Each panelist brings a unique perspective on the role of media in informed public discourse. Vannozzi is an Emmy-winning journalist and TV anchor for NJ Spotlight News, a newsroom for NJ PBS, whose career began with covering state legislative politics for New Jersey Network News. Wildstein is the founder and editor of the political news website New Jersey Grove, and is renowned for his encyclopedia knowledge of New Jersey politics.
Both moderators have successfully completed local businessmen with years of connection to public services. Senator Gopal is a Democrat who has represented Monmouth County’s 11th Legislative District since 2018. He is currently the Senate majority whip and chair of the Senate Education Committee.
Kirilos is a Republican who retired from the Senate in 2018 after a 30-year career in Congress representing Monmouth County’s 13th Congressional District. Kiriros, former chairman of the New Jersey Republican State Commission, is the principal of investment company SK Partners and director of Newport Capital Group.
