I actually made these paper Easter eggs years ago from the napkins I found in a store called Tuesday morning. I still use these decoupage eggs in my Easter decorations. They held up very well!
Speaking of Easter decorations, check out my cute centerpieces, which I put together using cheap Walmart planters and decoupage Easter eggs!
This 12 inch better home and garden planter is so beautiful and of very nice quality! So far I’ve used it as a fruit bowl and now it’s the highlight of Spring and Easter! To create this look, I just filled it up, became some faux moss, added ceramic bunnies and my DIY decoupage Easter eggs at the end.

1
Separate the bottom layer of the napkin and cut the patterned section into small strips.
2
Apply mod podge to the egg using a paint brush. Place a piece of paper, flatten it with your fingers and apply the paper to the egg. You can also cut out certain details on the napkin and separate the eggs for another design. I did this with butterflies on the napkin I found!
3
Stick the paper around the egg until it is covered. Polish one or two mod podges to seal your piece. After a while, simply skip the brush and use your fingers! Go for it and have fun. 😄
4
Let it dry completely and display for spring!
Hip Tips for Making Decoupage Easter Eggs:
Consider completing this DIY project with real eggs or grab wooden craft eggs from Amazon. If you are using real eggs, use pins to drill holes at each end of the egg. Next, blow air and drive out the inside of the egg. Using a small empty cardboard box and toothpick, we created a simple DIY drying rack for decoupage Easter eggs! It works well and is the perfect way to prevent eggs from getting ruined when dying, painting, or dipping them. Tissue paper could also help with this! You can use pastel, floral, patterned or bright depending on your desired results. Tissue paper is thinner than napkins, so be careful about your application.
The simple decoupage idea is my favorite and this is a must-see!
I love how bright the colors of these paper Easter eggs are, and they don’t have to be really perfect. Once the mod podge is dry, your eggs will look amazing! Put some of your decoupage Easter eggs in a decorative bowl or include them on your Easter table as a great DIY craft idea.
