Reviving Grandeur: Timeless Landmark Restoration
The restoration of the hotel’s façade revived the original 1912 splendor thanks to the thorough work of Luis Larea Arquitecla. The process spans 8,000 square meters, revealing the “palaces’ colours” (terracotta in contrast to warm beige) and revealing intricate floral ornaments and wreaths that remained hidden for decades.
The project saw the hotel’s iconic stained glass and iron door restoration. This is a masterpiece designed by Eduardo Feles I Puig in 1912 and executed by Master Greyger Maumejean. This monumental structure, consisting of 1,875 galaspains, regained its former grandeur through a meticulous process in which more than 100 experts collaborated. The stained glass dome was dismantled and restored to retrieve its original color. The stunning glass palm tree chandelier, once the heart of the hotel’s lobby, was lovingly restored to its original location beneath the dome, bringing the historic destination back to life

The redesign of the 470 rooms and suites, each in natural light, celebrates timeless elegance and vibrant spirits, both historical and contemporary Madrid. The hand-painted wallpaper set inside the boa sari is inspired by the scenery of El Retiro Park, while the bathroom mosaics depict aerial views of the royal botanical garden. Thoughtfully chosen elements, including marble fireplaces, mid-century style chandeliers and luxurious fabrics, create a prominent residential atmosphere for each room.
