Cust2Mate’s smart carts were introduced to coincide with the Olympic events, further increasing Israeli pride alongside sporting achievements and medals. The introduction took place at Franprix, one of France’s largest retail chains with over 600 branches across the country.
In addition to the carts recently introduced at its branch in Paris’ 17th arrondissement, Cust2Mate plans to supply many more smart carts in Paris and around the world in the near future. The supply of these smart carts to Franprix is part of an agreement with IR2S, a leading integrator of advanced retail technologies, which includes the delivery of approximately 30,000 smart carts over the next three years.
Market research shows that most consumers prefer to shop at stores that offer self-checkout instead of going through a traditional cash register. As a result, the smart cart market is growing by tens of percent each year and is expected to reach approximately $9 billion by 2030.

A technology-enhanced shopping experience Cust2Mate A2Z’s Smart Cart is a technology platform that eliminates waiting in checkout lines. It allows interaction from the moment customers enter the store until their purchase is complete, including supporting decision-making during the purchase process and highlighting both additional products and special promotions. Large screens installed on the cart allow targeted advertising to increase shopping basket size, recommend deals, explain different products and connect the digital and physical shopping experience.
The cart introduced at Franprix is the latest 3.0 generation model, recently launched and has already won the Best Smart Cart award at the RetailTech Breakthrough Awards 2024. This international competition is held annually and recognizes technological developments relevant to the retail industry.
“The excitement and positive feedback we’ve received from our customers who have tried the Cust2Mate smart cart shows how new technology is enhancing the shopping experience,” said Taher Ben Abdelkader, manager of the Franprix branch in Paris’ 17th arrondissement. “We are proud to be the first in France to introduce this innovative Cust2Mate cart, revolutionizing the retail industry.” Marc Dahan, CEO of IR2S (Photo credit: PR)

“We are proud that our carts are improving the shopping experience and operations of major chains like Franprix,” said Gadi Graus, CEO of A2Z Cust2Mate. “Our partnership with IR2S and Franprix is key to our success and is part of our business strategy to expand in France and globally. The launch in Paris’ 17th arrondissement branch marks another milestone in our efforts to continue to drive solutions through Cust2Mate’s advanced technology for both consumers and retailers.”
