LOS ANGELES – The Rams have released wide receiver Coopap, the team announced Wednesday.
The news comes days after the team agreed to sign six Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams on a two-year contract.

Kupp said in early February that the Rams notified him that “the team will immediately seek trade.” In his statement that day, he said, “I didn’t agree with the decision and I always believed it would start and end in LA.”
On Wednesday, Kupp looked back on his release and posted to X.
Incredible memories of eight years.
We talked a lot about the Rams’ return to Los Angeles and how they could grow into something special here. And there was early frustration about shopping from people in LA.

The Rams have designated cuts from June onwards as Kupp. That means that up until then it would carry a $29.78 million cap hit. Los Angeles will win a $14.78 million cap hit in 2025 and a $7.48 million cap hit in 2026. The Kupp release will save $15 million in cap space next season.
Editor’s Pick
Kup, 31, spent the first eight seasons of his NFL career in 2017 with the Rams, a part of manager Shawn McVay’s first draft class. The third round pick from East Washington was a rookie and had 62 receptions.
“This guy has changed my life,” McVay said of Kupp on the Fitz and Whit podcast last month. “It’s a special special because my first year as a head coach coincided with his rookie year. I’m a better person, I’m a better coach and I’m a better person because of the influence Cooper Kupp had on me.
Kupp’s best season led the NFL at reception in 2021 (145), received yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16). That season he was the only Pro Bowl pick and the NFL offensive player of the year.
He ended the season with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in a Rams Super Bowl defeating the Cincinnati Bengals, winning the game’s MVP Award.
After the season, Kupp signed a three-year contract extension worth $80.1 million. Kupp has since dealt with injuries in three seasons and has played in just 33 games.
In 12 games in the 2024 season, Kupp made 67 catches and six touchdowns for 710 yards.
Over his career, Kupp has 634 receptions with 7,776 receiving yards and 58 total touchdowns (57 receiving).
