PGA of America recorded more than $172 million in total revenue for the year ending March 31, 2024, reflecting a 33% increase from the previous year, according to the association’s latest tax return.
The year’s revenue, driven heavily by tournament revenue, is at least the second-highest total since 2010, tracking only 2021-22, including the US host’s Ryder Cup in the Whistle Strait.
Investment revenues rose from $15 million to $20 million, while program services revenues, including tournament revenues, skyrocketed to $149 million. Nearly $134 million came directly from the tournament business thanks to Rome’s 2023 Ryder Cup.
PGA’s total assets had risen to nearly $451 million by the end of the year, up from $407 million. Additionally, costs associated with holding the Ryder Cup overseas have increased to nearly $185 million.
NBC Universal tops its list of independent contractors and has earned $2.6 million for broadcast compensation.
Former CEO Seth Waugh’s total pay exceeded $3.8 million from $3.2 million the previous year, while Chief Championship Officer Kelly Hay was the second-highest pay employee with a total pay of $1.2 million.
