The 48-year-old Maryland man is not being held after being told he had accused his ex-girlfriend of his luxurious apartment in Alexandria’s Carlisle neighborhood.
The incident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, January 28th at an apartment in the 800 block of John Carlyle Street. After 9:30am, I called 911 to report the friend’s appointment by a friend’s ex-boyfriend.
According to a recently released search warrant affidavit, the woman received a text from a friend saying, “(the suspect) broke into my Apt a few hours ago.” “Take me hostage. Don’t call the police. He’ll hurt me.”
The APD answered the call and was asked as the victim asked, “Who is it?” when they knocked on the apartment door. Before yelling, he runs through the door and leaves the suspect in his apartment.
The victim said her ex was using key FOB to enter the apartment and, according to a search warrant affidavit, he threatened her and physically attacked her.
“In addition, he granted (the victim) freedom to leave and move from the apartment, and therefore accused her,” police said in a search warrant affidavit.
The victim has two important FOBs, one owned.
Police were unable to find a spare key FOB in her car, leading the police to believe the suspect had broken into it. They discovered that the hood of the car had been prying open and scratch marks existed on the vehicle that the victim had not noticed before the incident.
The suspect was arrested and charged with accusations of acquiring, robbery, violation of armed protection orders, entering the home of someone with a protection order and masking to hide their identity, assault, tampering/broking in a motor vehicle.
The suspect will be in court on April 29th.
