SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Mayor of Shreveport expressed his gratitude to the City of Shreveport for the success of Humor & Harmony Weekend.
The mayor released the statement on Wednesday, August 14th.
“A special thanks must go to all of our City Board members and staff, especially SPAR Board Member Shelley Ruggles, Convention Center (ASM) Director Marla Mitchell, City Attorney Marcus Edwards, Real Estate Standards Director Terence Green, Public Works Director Gary Norman, Sport Run CEO Dinello Washington and all their staff and employees, Police Chief Wayne Smith, Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Sheriff Henry Whitehorn and staff, City Marshal James Jefferson and staff, business leaders and the entire Shreveport community. We were able to achieve what matters most – public safety and a positive outcome,” said Mayor Tom Arceneaux.
The mayor went on to say that the city worked closely with “highly professional” members of G-Unit’s staff.
“By working together we have created a wonderful festival for our community,” the mayor said.
He said the weekend’s events exceeded the city’s expectations and he also thanked the Shreveport City Council.
“Shreveport residents, we demonstrated the meaning of the word ‘teamwork’ this past weekend. Thank you again for your amazing ‘I Love Shreveport’ attitude. Let’s keep up the positive momentum!” Arceneaux said.
