Egypt-led Arab countries can turn the enclave into a luxurious real estate development as the US strongly rejects President Trump’s proposal that the Gaza Strip “take over” and drives away more than 2 million Palestinian residents Alternative Plans. Leaders of the 22 Arab League of Arab countries attended a summit in Cairo on Tuesday and unanimously adopted Egyptian proposals.
The Trump administration, along with close Israeli allies, quickly rejected the plan, repeating the president’s claim that destruction was caught up in Gaza during the 15-month war between Israel and Hamas.
The Palestinians who spoke to CBS News in Gaza vehemently refused a bid to force them from the territory. Proposed To let them go is a cleansing of the people.
Hamas supported the Arab plan, but as part of the ceasefire agreement, it has consistently refused to disarm it as something that Israel considers essential.
Israel and the US reject Arab Gaza plan
Israel quickly rejected the Egyptian-made plan, and Tel Aviv’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it “continues to rely on Palestinian authority and UNRWA.”
After Tuesday’s summit, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti dismissed his stance and told reporters, “Discussions about rejecting Unrwa or rejecting PA are pointless and unacceptable. He accused Israel of violating international law and UN resolutions, and told him that international law must be enforced.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry accused neighboring Arab countries of “using Palestinians as pawns against Israel,” and the statement repeated the Netanyahu administration’s support for “President Trump’s thoughts.”
The department argued that the US president’s plan was “an opportunity for Gazas to make free choices based on their free will.” Trump says They are not allowed to return to Gaza.
Meanwhile, US National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said in a statement that the Arab proposal “is currently uninhabitable in Gaza and residents cannot live humanely in territory covered in shrapnel and misfire justice.”
“President Trump supports his vision to rebuild Gaza from Hamas,” Hughes added:
Egyptian President Abdel Fatta Elsisi said in his speech that he believes it is time to find a way to a “fair and sustainable solution” to the Israeli-Palestine crisis several decades ago, saying, “I believe that the US President has ensured the ability to achieve this purpose and bring about the suction of sin and the kingdom to seduce the region.
Next week, at another Saudi Arabia summit, Egypt and its Arab League partners will seek support from other Islamic countries for their plans. High European Union officials attended the summit in Cairo on Tuesday, but there was no statement from the bloc providing clear support for the Arab proposal.
What are the Arab proposals to rebuild Gaza?
As Foreign Minister Abdelatti explained after Tuesday’s summit, Egypt’s plan will include three stages. The first will focus on emergency relief efforts and initial recovery, including the construction of 200,000 temporary housing units in Gaza.
That first phase takes six months to a year and costs $3 billion.
The second phase involves the construction of 200,000 permanent housing units and efforts to reestablish critical infrastructure. That phase is expected to take around two years at a $20 billion price tag.
The final stage will require around $30 billion, adding another 200,000 permanent housing units and more service facilities, including port and airport restructuring over another two years.
Egyptian plans call for an administrative committee consisting of independent Palestinian technocrats to manage the territory for six months, controlled by the US and Israel-designated terrorist group Hamas, which has been controlled by the Israel-designated terrorist group Hamas, which calls for an administrative committee consisting of independent Palestinian technocrats to control the territory for six months before Palestinian authority controls Gaza.
The PA currently controls parts of the West Bank under Israeli occupation, the other is a much larger Palestinian territory. It is not widely popular among Palestinians. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently ruled Hamas in Hamas or Gaza.
Abdelatty also said Egypt would help Egypt train Egypt’s Palestinian security personnel to maintain and maintain security throughout the Gaza Strip, but he did not state the stage that would begin at any stage of the proposed plan.
The Foreign Minister acknowledged that before any of this happens – whether the plan or its version is supported by Israel, it has solid control over the goods and those entering and out of Gaza, and currently blocking all aid entries, there must first be a permanent ceasefire.
Calling for international support – and lots of money
Working on the summit, Elssi called on other countries to support the plan of around $53 billion and financially asked Egypt to participate in the reconstruction conference being held next month.
“Let us unite to channel the support of this fund into a noble goal and moral obligation,” Elssi said, “ensure that all Palestinians and Palestinian families have the right to live in a safe and civilized environment for all.”
In a final statement issued by summit attendees, leaders called on the UN Security Council to send international peacekeeping forces.
The leaders also affirmed that they “confirmed the important and irreplaceable role of the UN Relief and Labor Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in carrying out the duties recognized by the UN Solution.”
The Israeli government has long accused UNRWA of linking with Hamas, and a few weeks ago, UN aid agencies banned them from operating on its territory.
