On Tuesday, the Eagles paid players responsible for their performance as they agreed to the terms of a two-year contract extension to run Saquon Barkley throughout the 2028 season.
Barkley, the NFL Attacker of the Year and finalist for the 2024 MVP Awards, became the ninth player in NFL history, surpassing 2,000 rushing yards in a season, setting a franchise record in the process. His 2,005 rushing yards became the eighth in the regular season in NFL history.
Including a run to the Super Bowl, Berkley set the new, greatest NFL record ever in most rushing yards in 2,504 seasons. He scored 20 touchdowns in the regular season and playoffs.
Barkley also led the league with a franchise record of 2,283 yards from Scrimmage. This is 34.8% of the league, which is 34.8% of the team’s output, adding a total of 15 touchdowns in the regular season.
Four NFC Offensive Player of the Week of the Week of the Week of the Week, the first team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection recorded the franchise’s single game rush record in the regular season, with 255 facing the Los Angeles Rams, breaking past 200 yards (205) in a divisional round victory against the Rams, setting the team’s single game playoff record.
