Unlike other religious leaders around the world, the world’s billion Catholic leaders are also leaders of sovereign states. And Pope Francis was not embarrassed to use his political power.
He calls for an end to the war between Hamas and Israel, Russia and Ukraine.
He then repeatedly tried to point to global attention to two ongoing challenges: immigration and climate change.
Much of the world has been focusing on Pope Francis’ health for the past two weeks. And why it has something to do with the fact that he is a powerful geopolitical force, just as he is an important religious figure.
