Donald Trump suspends US military aid in Ukraine days after a line with President Zelensky.
A White House official spoke anonymously said, “The President (Trump) has made it clear that he is focusing on peace.
“We need our partners to commit to that goal too. We are pausing and reviewing our support to make sure it contributes to the solution.”
There were no indications about the length of the suspension and so far no comments were made from Ukraine.
It comes after an astonishing clash between two leaders and Vice President Vance in the oval office on Friday.
Donald Trump’s Zelensky’s behaviour led to a show of support from European leaders who tried to advance their own methods.
The US president again attacked Ukrainian leaders on Monday, telling reporters “I would like to thank more.”
Writing in the True Society, Trump said Zelensky “issued the worst statement made” after commenting that peace was “very, very far away.”
“America will never hold back for so long!” he posted.
“That’s what I was saying. This guy doesn’t want peace as long as he has American support,” the president added.
Zelenskyy then posted to X, saying that Ukraine is “working with partners in America and Europe and is extremely hoping for the US support of the path to peace.”
“We need peace as soon as possible,” he said.
Despite the diplomatic crisis, President Trump has said that deals are still possible.
The agreement that grants Ukrainian rare earth metals access to the United States was intended to have been signed by two presidents on Friday.
It was billed as an important step in future peace agreements – and some reward for the assistance already received.
But the dramatic fall put it at risk.
Zelenskyy hopes that the metal contract will include guarantees regarding Russia’s suspension if it breaks the terms of the peace agreement.
European allies, which met Ukrainian leaders in London on Sunday, are featured on a “coalition of will” that deploy peacekeepers and thwart further Russian attacks in the event of a ceasefire.
The Prime Minister said the UK is ready to put “boots and airplanes on the ground,” but it is unclear who else is involved at the moment.

Keir Starmer told MPS on Monday that the UK must “lead from the frontline” in supporting Ukraine and “the security of our continent, our country.”
However, the Prime Minister believes that European military deployments must have a “backstop” deterrent for Russia to be taken seriously.
The US has given Ukraine about 64 billion euros of military aid, compared to 620 billion euros from European countries (including the UK).
The total total for the US is 114 billion euros, while Europe is 132 billion euros. This includes humanitarian aid and other financial assistance to keep the country running.
After the weekend summit, the UK pledged £1.6 billion in Ukrainian finances to buy another 5,000 air defense missiles.
