The Philadelphia 76ers finally put Joel Embiid in a much-needed shutdown.
The team’s disastrous advances have forced the franchise to call Joel Embiid’s availability this season.
It was officially announced Friday that the Philadelphia 76ers had kept the superstar big man inactive for the rest of the season.
The 76ers will allow Embiid to focus on knee rehabilitation rather than competing for Eastern No. 12 team.

Dwight Howard blasts fans by criticizing Joel Embiid for playing and putting pressure on him
Back at the beginning of the season, Embiid himself announced that he may not be playing consecutive games anymore.
The statement quickly raised an eyebrow, sparking a stir from many, and toresting the superstar to his unwillingness into use.
And as to how things turned out now, Dwight Howard believes fans shouldn’t be frustrated by Embiid, who warned him that something was wrong from the start.

Shutting down Embiid is a legitimate move for the 76ers
Embiid has been in and out of the 76ers lineup this season. He averaged 23.8 points, 8.2 boards, 4.5 assists and a career-worst 44.4% shots as he only played in 19 games.
The 76ers made the right call to the shelf Enveid in a move recommended by fans and experts for the rest of the season. This year, it’s already been lost by putting Paul George’s podcast on hold.
We can only hope that Embiid will recover fully next season and rediscover his old MVP form.
