Amy Gleason is the representative manager of the U.S. Doge Services, an agency that houses the government’s temporary efficiency, a White House official told CNN on Tuesday.
The announcement reveals the technical leaders of a Musk-led initiative tasked with restructuring the federal government after weeks of questions about Elon Musk’s official role and authority over Doge.
Gleason has a healthcare background and worked for US Digital Services, an office previously created by President Barack Obama and more recently named after Doge. Her position at Doge was first reported by Washington examiners.
She also worked for President Donald Trump’s first term. This includes being placed on the White House Coronavirus Task Force data team due to her background in technology. The team was led by Dr. Deborah Birks.
Despite pledging full transparency, the White House refused or could not identify Doge administrators, including Tuesday’s press conference. Musk serves as the public face of the initiative and continues to issue social media directives to government workers, but the White House is one of the special government officials whose position is, and in full-time workers, They claim that it is not.
