Apple will spend more than $500 billion in the US over the next four years
Expanding teams and facilities in Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Oregon, North Carolina and Washington
The plans include accelerated investments in new Texas plants, the US Advanced Manufacturing Fund, the Academy of Manufacturing, and AI and silicon engineering.
Cupertino, California Apple today announced its largest spending commitment ever, with plans to spend and invest more than $500 billion in the US over the next four years. This new pledge is based on Apple’s long history of investing in American innovation and highly skilled manufacturing, focusing on artificial intelligence, silicon engineering and skill development for students and workers across the country. Supports a wide range of initiatives.
“We are bullish on the future of American innovation and are proud to build on years of US investment with this $500 billion commitment to our country’s future.” “Advanced Manufacturing Fund From doubling the number of advanced technologies to Texas, we are excited to expand our support for American manufacturing. And we work with people and businesses in this country to become extraordinary in the history of American innovation. I will continue to help you write new chapters.”
As part of this package of investment, Apple and Partners will open a new, sophisticated manufacturing facility in Houston, an Apple Intelligence system that helps users write and express themselves and get things done Produces servers that support Apple Intelligence. Apple also doubles the US advanced manufacturing fund and establishes an academy in Michigan to train the next generation of US manufacturers and research into the US to support cutting edge fields such as silicon engineering. Expand development investment.
The $500 billion commitment includes Apple’s work with thousands of suppliers across all 50 states, direct employment, Apple Intelligence Infrastructure and Data Center, corporate facilities, and Apple TV+ Productions in 20 states. Apple remains one of the largest US taxpayers to pay more than $75 billion in US taxes over the past five years, including $19 billion in 2024 alone.
Today, Apple supports more than 2.9 million jobs nationwide through direct employment, and works with US supplements and manufacturers to help hire developers in the thriving iOS app economy.
Opening a new manufacturing facility in Houston
As part of a new US investment, Apple will work with manufacturing partners to begin production of servers in Houston later this year. The 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing facility, scheduled to open in 2026, will create thousands of jobs.
The server, previously built in Houston, soon to be assembled in Houston, plays a key role in enhancing the power of Apple Intelligence and serves as the basis for Private Cloud Compute. Cloud computing. Servers bring together years of R&D with Apple engineers, bringing Apple Silicon industry-leading security and performance to your data centers.
Apple’s team designed the servers to be extremely energy efficient, reducing the energy demands of Apple data centers. This is already running on 100% renewable energy. As Apple brings Apple Intelligence to its US customers, it will also continue to expand its data center capacity in North Carolina, Iowa, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada.
Double Apple’s US Advanced Manufacturing Fund
As part of this new investment, Apple doubled the US advanced manufacturing fund in 2017. It was founded to support world-class innovation and advanced manufacturing jobs across the United States. With its growing commitment, the fund has grown from $5 billion to $10 billion, focusing on promoting sophisticated manufacturing and skill development across the country.
The fund’s expansion includes a multi-billion dollar commitment from Apple to produce sophisticated silicon at TSMC’s Fab 21 facility in Arizona. Apple is the largest client in this cutting-edge facility, employing more than 2,000 workers to manufacture chips in the United States. Mass production of Apple chips began last month.
The silicon used by Apple is designed to bring in incredible functionality, performance and power efficiency for Apple users across their devices. Apple’s suppliers already manufacture silicon at 24 factories in 12 states, including Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Utah. The company’s investment in this sector will help create thousands of high jobs nationwide for US companies such as Broadcom, Texas Instruments, SkyWorks and QORVO.
To date, Apple’s US Advanced Manufacturing Fund has supported projects in 13 states, including Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Texas and Indiana. They help build, train local businesses and create a wide range of innovative manufacturing processes and materials for Apple products.
Expanding R&D investment across the US
Apple has been expanding R&D across the US for the past five years, and Apple has nearly doubled its US-based advanced R&D spending, continuing to accelerate its growth.
Recently, Apple announced the latest additions to its iPhone lineup, the iPhone 16e. The iPhone 16E is the industry-leading efficiency of the A18 chip, and the first cellular modem designed by Apple, the new Apple C1, the most power-efficient modem on the iPhone, for faster, smooth performance and increased efficiency. It provides groundbreaking battery life. The Apple C1 adds new chapters to the Apple Silicon story, the result of years of R&D investment, bringing together the work of thousands of engineers. The Apple C1 is the launch of a long-term strategy that will allow Apple to innovate and optimize modem systems for additional Apple products.
Over the next four years, Apple is expected to employ around 20,000 people, the majority of which will focus on R&D, silicon engineering, software development, AI and machine learning. The expanded commitment includes significant investments in Apple’s R&D hubs nationwide. This includes growth teams across the US focusing on areas such as custom silicon, hardware engineering, software development, artificial intelligence, machine learning and more.
Supporting American companies at Detroit’s new manufacturing academy
To help businesses move into advanced manufacturing, Apple is opening Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit. Apple engineers will consult with small businesses on implementing AI and Smart Manufacturing Techniques with experts from top universities such as Michigan. The Academy also offers free, in-person and online courses with a skill development curriculum that teaches workers important skills such as project management and manufacturing process optimization. This course will help promote productivity, efficiency and quality in your company’s supply chain.
Apple has long been committed to investing in education and skill development for American workers and students. This includes continuous and expanding grant programs for organizations such as 4-H, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and First. It works closely with Apple in communities across the country to create free programming that will help young people learn important skills such as coding.
Apple’s support for the next generation of innovators also includes efforts such as the company’s new silicon initiative to prepare students for careers in hardware engineering and silicon chip design. Last year, the program expanded to students at Georgia Tech and now reaches students from eight schools across the country. Starting this year, Apple has continued to expand its initiatives, including a new collaboration with UCLA’s Microchip Designer Education Center (CEMID).
Apple When it comes to Apple, the introduction of the Macintosh in 1984 revolutionized personal technology. Today, Apple is leading the world of innovation with its iPhone, iPad, Mac, Airpods, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro. Apple’s six software platforms (iOS, iPados, Macos, Watchos, Visionos and TVO) offer a seamless experience on all Apple devices, and are breakthroughs such as the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay, Icloud, Apple TV+ We provide services such as: Apple’s over 150,000 employees are dedicated to creating the best products on the planet and making the world better than we have found.
