Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Governor Delbert Joseman collapsed in the state Senate on Wednesday after becoming dehydrated.
Video footage from the Senate room showed Joseman on the podium and advanced before falling to the floor.
Several individuals rushed to help him, prompting him to take a break in the Senate. After the incident, Joseman issued a statement confirming that dehydration was the cause of his collapse.

As reported by the Associated Press, Joseman’s office issued a statement after a while saying he was “working well and feeling well” and expressing his gratitude to medical staff. I did. The lieutenant governor later gave a statement thanking people for their “kind words and prayers” and explaining that he was dehydrated but “I’m fine now.”

Gov. Tate Reeves posted on social platform X that he and his wife are “Praying for Lieutenant Colonel Joseman.” State legislators also posted a message of support.
Just a week ago, on February 12, Joseman presented a $326 million tax cut package, which said it would cut taxes over the next four years, but it should be “sustainable.” He said.
