River Ridge, a suburb of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, dates back to the late 18th century, when French settlers and their descendants established large-scale rural farmland lined the Mississippi River. After World War II, veterans used the GI bill to buy homes in newly developed neighbourhoods. Local businesses were also established, and Riverridge has completely moved from farmland to a suburban family-friendly community that still exists today.
