Nomade Holbox is a luxury hotel concept focused on health on vacation on Mexico’s beautiful islands.
Three hours south of Cancun, reachable only by boat, with 26 miles of fantastic beaches and untouched jungle and crystal clear, fiery flickering waters hidden between the bay and the Caribbean. For a long time, it was an insider’s escape, a bit of hidden gems in their appearance.
And so far, new hospitality projects have been sensitive to the untouched nature of the environment, while development is increasing. This is especially important on islands where infrastructure is limited in nature without vehicles. A boutique luxury hotel with minimal footprint is the only viable option.
Of course, these qualities vary widely. However, the recent opening of Nomade Holbox is a big win for the island. Yes, the original concept comes from Tulum – and you will find purists who say they don’t want Holbox to be a “new Tulum.” . Nomide focuses on health and sustainability, and perfectly aligns with Holbox’s more organic aesthetics.
And Holbox is an island within the federally designated Yam Balam Nature Reserve, so it is infinitely safe, more relaxed, not a bohemian, not a Prada-wearing kind. And while there’s room for different types of projects rather than having to be packed along similarly unpaved roads, high-rise buildings are welcome anywhere on the island thanks to strict regulations. It’s not going to happen.
