NBA All-Star Game It’s been heading in the wrong direction for a few years now, but it reached a turning point last season when the Western Conference beat the Eastern Conference, 211-186 in a game that broke numerous goal-scoring records.
In response to widespread criticism, the NBA I decided to change things this year. Instead of the traditional All-Star Game, the Sunday Night Fest has been transformed into a mini tournament featuring four teams. The All-Star Player Pool will be drafted into three teams: Kenny’s Young Guns, Chuck’s Global Star and Shack’s OG, with Rising Star winner Team C.
Game 1 of the single elimination event features Kenny’s Young Star and Chuck’s global stars, while Game 2 pits Shaq’s OG against Team C. The winners of these two games will be squared at the championship late in the evening. In all three games, the winner will be the first team to reach or exceed 40 points.

There is a $8.8 million prize pool, with each player on the winning team receiving $125,000.
Will the new format be a more competitive night? The NBA certainly wants that, but the players themselves aren’t that sure. During Saturday’s All-Star Media Day, stars around the league shared their thoughts on the new setup. This is what they had to say:
“Definitely, yeah (my intention is to go outside),” Wenbanyama said. “That’s the goal. The goal is certainly not to cool down.
“Maybe it’s not something I’ve learned. I think it might be innate. But of course, it was definitely encouraged by our family culture. Of course. I don’t know. I’ll ever need to myself. Be faithful.”
“I mean, I think that’s probably why they don’t want to put this type of form in and increase that sense of pride and become the wrong purpose for it,” Lillard said.
“I mean, we see. I think one thing about a team full of young players is that they’ll get out there and play with energy. They’re going to play fast. That’s probably. It will increase competition.”
“I’m the one guy out there,” Gilgaus Alexander said. “I want to play. If you’re asking where my stance is, then I want to play it like a pickup game, certainly in the summer. But I’m the one guy out there. I’m not trying to dive with a loose ball.”
“I understand. I understand,” Durant said. “It’s not what we’re used to, but at the end of the day it’s basketball. The guys are out there and trying to play and impress the fans, stay healthy and do a good show. I think so.”
“I don’t know much about that,” Edwards said.
“I’ll just get a full courtroom and go from there,” Jackson said. “A lot of talk about it. I’m sure it’s the hottest topic of the past few years alone. Courts.”
“Maybe (it’s going to improve the competition),” Jokic said. “We’ll see. It’s definitely something we worked to change and I think it’s worth trying. I wonder how players react and how it will look. Please take a look.”
