On Friday, Alpena’s boys basketball team played against the Cadillac, where they gave up their first lead and lost 50-28.
The jump ball, made by Eddie Prue, began owned by Cadillac. Cadillac scored first with a 3-pointer.
Connor Cameron tied the score with a 3-pointer for the Alpena.
Cadillac then got a two-pointer, and Carson Narmowich followed the suit and tied again.
Prue scored a 3-pointer for the team, leading Alpena for the first time. Prue was also sent to the line, where he scored two points from a free throw.
Cameron scored another three pointers, followed by Oliver Dussler on the free throw line, scoring two points.
The first quarter ended with an Alpena with a 15-9 lead.
Cadillac had multiple baskets at the beginning of the second quarter, bringing a tie between the Cadillac and the Alpena 15-15.
Cameron sprinted first and scored two pointers for Alpena, but this was the only point he scored in the second quarter.
The score at halftime was 19-17 Cadillac.
After halftime, Cameron was sent to the line to win a free throw.
Prue scored two baskets for Alpena and scored four points. Prue then continued with a 3-pointer.
In the third quarter, most of the points went to Cadillac, resulting in a score of 30-25.
Cadillac was called out in the fourth quarter, sending Prue to the line and adding more points to the board.
Duthler scored two points. This is the last point Alpena went to the game. Cadillac called a timeout with 50 seconds left, and they ended the game with another basket and left with victory.
Alpena’s next home game is 7pm on Thursday.
