Approximately 100 people have evacuated from a five-star hotel in central London. Fires continue to burn the building.
The flames at the Chiltern Fire Station in Marylebone, which began around 14:50, were in ducts that stretched from the first floor to the roof of the building. The roof-level plant rooms are also down, the London Fire Department (LFB) said.
With its restaurant on the ground floor, the hotel is a celebrity hotspot and hosts A-listers such as Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp.
Located on Chiltern Street, it occupys the location of the Victorian Fire Station, built in 1889, and was the site of Kylie Minogue’s 50th birthday party in 2018.

Guyfishman, who was returning home from his workplace near Bond Street, said he saw “eans” and “orange glow” coming from the hotel window.
The 23-year-old from Richmond, southwest London, said he saw “all smokey streets.”
“Now my coat smells like smoke,” Fishman told PA News Agency. “There was really thick smoke and it went into other streets, I went outside and my vision was terrible.
“I didn’t think it would be that bad. Especially when I see the embers coming from the window at the top, it’s so dark that I can see the orange glow, and (fire fighters) really have a water jet I was trying to fight that.”

Fishman added: “I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that in the UK or London.”
According to LFB, 20 fire trucks and around 125 firefighters were called to tackle the flames.
Fire station crews have been deployed at Euston, Soho, Paddington, West Hampstead, Kensington and Chelsea. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
