Upon arriving in snowy Berlin, things became political with Timothy Chalamet.
Following James Mangold’s starring role in Oscar-nominated Bob Dylan, the actor was asked questions about how he viewed the present, and a complete unknown screening in Berlin Le, and “the rise of populism and the extreme right,” Chalamett seemed initially hoping to dodge the question.
He kept it to Bob Dylan and referenced his starring role in Dune. “I don’t think that’s necessarily a political issue,” he said. “But I think that’s a warning to his musical nature, a cult-like figure, because he’s literally alive and well in Malibu. But my interpretation is merely a warning to someone like a savior. That’s what I just said. It’s obviously a warning from Frank Herbert’s dunes.”
Chalamet spoke in the wall-to-wall room of the room with international journalists eager to get a glimpse of the Oscar nominee at a Berlin Rail press conference on Friday. He was a little late to the Presser after signing the autograph for fans who endure snowy conditions outside the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin.
“Well, first of all, it was a huge legacy with the incomparable artist Bob Dylan,” Chalamett said of what attracted him to James Mangold’s films.
“I felt he left a roadmap for other artists. Really – I’m an actor, so I’m not a musician – I should follow. And I think it’s very inspiring. It turns out to be targeted. Of course, it was James Mangold, the incredible script he wrote. It’s a gift that keeps giving.
“The whole process was really exhilarating, especially the concert ones, the Newport Film Festival… I love this film so much, I’ll be (pressing) for a year,” he continued. “Bob Dylan, the artist man, has become a shining light for me and to this day has become a guide for me. His personality and rejection are part of the masses. I have been working with this man and this period five times. Have you ever had an excuse to study for a year and a half? What a gift.”
The French American actor, whose zip-up hoodie and white bandana looked like bees tied to his neck on Friday, was the James Mangold biopic Bob Dylan. He has been a recipient of the bustling awards since his outing. A Hollywood reporter describes Chalamet’s performance as “impressive” in his review.
After netting Oscar’s Best Actor nomination for this role, Chalamet became the youngest Best Actor nominee in Call Me (2017) and Completely Unknown (2024) in your name since James Dean It’s become.
Berlin in 2025 will be held from February 13th to 23rd.
