On Thursday, President Donald Trump skipped a journalist’s question about “anti-Indian activities” in the United States, saying he couldn’t understand his “tough accent.”
At a joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House, reporters asked if several groups that speak up against Trump should continue in the US. Reporters also said they “welcome” Trump’s decision to hand over defendant Tahoul Rana to India in the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.
“You’ll have to go loudly,” replied the US president.
When reporters began to repeatedly ask him questions, Trump interrupted, saying, “I can’t understand what he’s saying. That’s an accent. That’s a bit difficult for me.”
Shortly afterwards, another reporter asked Trump how the US would cooperate in dealing with Kalistan terrorists, referring to Garpatwant Shinpannun, who faces more than 100 lawsuits in India. .
“There have been allegations that have been levelled against Indian institutions by the Biden administration. Are you planning to reaffirm them with Tulsi Gabbard and the DNI (Director of National Intelligence)?” the reporter asked.
Trump again did not directly address the questions, saying he believes India does not have a “very good relationship” with the Biden administration.
Speaking about the extradition of Rana, he said the US was giving India a “very violent man” “quickly.”

This wasn’t the first time Trump has rejected a journalist by quoting their accent. Last week, while attending a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, he brushed off questions from a female Afghan reporter about the Taliban.
“It’s a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent. The only problem is that you can’t understand what you’re saying,” he said.
