Lynchburg, VA – Lynchburg men’s volleyball team (4-6) travels to Ashland for an ODAC matchup with Randolph Macon (8-4) at 7pm on Thursday, February 13th
The yellow jacket is in a seven-game winning streak. In his latest match, Randolph Macon defeated Virginia Wesleyan in five sets. They won a key conference victory on the road, but it was the first time in six games that lost a set.
The Yellow Jacket is the best serving team in ODAC, with an average of 2.1 aces/set. Ian Wagenhauser leads teams and meetings on .91 Aces/set. A sophomore outside batsman, Wagenhauser, was an explosive element of the Yellow Jackets offensive, tallying the team’s best 3 kills/set.
Defensively, RMC is extremely talented on the internet. The Yellow Jackets have totaled 75 blocks this season. Kody Rogan is a defensive ACHOR this season and has already won one ODAC Defensive Player of the Week award.
Lynchburg entered the incident last weekend from a back-to-back loss, falling 0-3 to EMU and 2-3 to Regent. Through three meeting games, the Hornets went 1-2. Middle hitter Bryce Jackson leads the meeting with a hit rate of .364. Nick Reading sits in the top five of ODAC for murder, with an average of 2.82 kills/set.
The Hornets make a quick turnaround following this match. Lynchburg will travel to the country’s capital on Saturday, February 15th for a double header with Neumann and Gallaudet.
